Throttle Valve Actuators (TVA) Deactivation
As we all know, diesel engines do not require a throttle body, throttle plate, or throttle valve actuators for efficient operation. This is because diesel engines are throttled by the amount of fuel injected. When you press the gas pedal in a diesel vehicle, more fuel is injected, causing the engine to turn faster with more torque. Conversely, reducing the fuel supply will slow the engine down. Unlike petrol engines, maintaining a stoichiometric ratio is not as important in diesel engines, which means that the throttle body is mainly used in the EGR system and also plays a role during engine shutdown to smooth out the process. However, in some situations, it may be necessary to disable the TVA in the engine control unit to determine the exact cause of a vehicle malfunction and eliminate other potential issues.
